Almeater Gary Caldwell

Mrs. Almeater Gary Caldwell, 91, affectionately known as “Polly”, entered into Eternal Rest on Friday, December 23, 2016, at the home of her granddaughter in Conyers, Georgia. She was born in Newberry, South Carolina, and was a daughter of the late Bessie Werts Gary and the late (stepfather), Ben Gary.

She joined Renwick Grove Baptist Church at an early age. She was the last survivor of her immediate family.

She was predeceased by her husband, Leon Caldwell; her son, John Paul Gary; a sister, Nellie W. Mathis; cousins, Mattie Lois Werts and Lillie Mae Wertz.

Survivors include her granddaughter, Almeater V. Harris (Robert); four great-grandchildren, Robert Harris, Jr.  Quinton Harris, Tiffani Kelly and Myah Kelley; three great-grandchildren, Kylic Harris, James Harris and Kaiden Harris; devoted nieces, including a devoted great-niece, Brenda Roseboro, all of whom grieve her departure but rejoice that she is now resting with the Lord.

Funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 29, 2016 at Renwick Grove Baptist Church in Newberry, SC (viewing one hour prior to the service).
