Mr. Brown was such a nice man. I can still hear his voice in the hallway at Hopkins Jr. High. Every time he we see me he would say how are you today young lady? Honestly I never remember hearing him raise his voice...that's the kind of man I remember him being calm and professional. So to his family I love you all and will continue to pray for you all through this time of sorrow.

To the illustrious Joe Ellis Brown. You have been a father to the fatherless especially to this young man as you use to call me. You've done more for me and my family than I could ever put into words or fathom that anyone would do for another without any repay or recompense. You may be gone but you never ever will be forgotten. The investment that you've made in my life, as well as many others, is immeasurable. God bless you. God keep you and for lack of any other words to express my gratitude... Thank you Joe Ellis Brown! From one of your many sons, of course I believe I'm the favorite, Darrell Black.

Our condolences to the our cousins, the Brown Family. You are in our prayers for strength and blessings at a time such as this. I have fond memories of Dr. Brown when he owned the Esso gas station on Harden Street at Calhoun Street. Joe Jr. and use to play there and try to ride those Honda motorcycles that he rented to the public.

My sincere condolence to Mrs. Brown and the Brown family. I will always have great memories of this great man who always spoke well of everyone. He was a great supporter of ACTS/Riverside National Alumni Association where he held the office of Treasurer for a few years. He loved his hometown of Pendleton and his family. He will be greatly missed.

May God's peace be with you. Cherish the memories you created with him. I will always remember him for his caring and loving nature. Here is a poem written by Helen Steiner Rice:
"May tender memories soften your grief,
May fond recollection bring you relief,
And may you find comfort and peace in the thought
Of the joy that knowing your loved one brought...
For time and space can never divide
Or keep your loved one from your side.
When memory paints in colors true,
the happy hours that belonged to you."

Dear Dorothy & family,
We extend our deepest sympathies to you and your family. May the soul of Joe be at peace with our Heavenly Father.
May care and love of those around you provide comfort and peace to get you through the days ahead.

2 Corinthians 1:3-5
3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, 4 who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God. 5 For just as we share abundantly in the sufferings of Christ, so also our comfort abounds through Christ. Our most sincere condolences.

Our prayers are with the family. I grew up with Joe and went to school in Pendleton. He will certainly be missed by all that knew him; he was a true friend indeed by all accounts. Joe loved people first and foremost. He was the best car washer in Pendleton and I will miss my old friend. The Sanders'

Dear Brown Family,
Experiencing the death of a husband and father is so personal that very few of us can understand the grief involved. Perhaps it will help to ease your sadness if you know that Deacon (Represenative) Joe Ellis Brown will be greatly missed by all of his church family, friends, and that we all share in your sadness. Deacon (Represenative) was one of the most charming and warmest men Pastor Wade and I have ever known. We will never forget him. His memories will live on at the St. John Baptist Church Holistic Wellness Center. Remember memories are the legacy of love. He will forever live in your heart.
With sympathy and prayers,
Rev. Sammy Wade & Mary Wade
