Mr. Alonzo Maybin

Mr. Alonzo Maybin, of 2000 Vincent Street, Newberry, South Carolina entered into Eternal rest on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at his residence. Born in Newberry, SC, he was the son of the late Mr. Andrew Maybin, Sr. and the late Mrs. Dora Gilliam Maybin.

He was a member and served as a Trustee of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Newberry, SC.

Mr. Maybin was a United States Army veteran.

He was a retired employee of Monsanto Company.

His son, Danny Maybin; two brothers and a sister, preceded him to Heaven.

Those who celebrate his life and cherish precious and loving memories are his devoted wife, Mrs. Shirley G. Maybin; one son, Rex Maybin of Columbia, SC; two daughters, Phyllis Maybin Hunter of Newberry, SC and Mary Dianne Johnson (Brook) of Martin, SC; grandchildren, Ashley Maybin of Nashville, Tennessee, Carlita Nicole Cheek of Columbia, SC and Soleil Maybin of Columbia, SC; two great-grandchildren, Hunter Victoria and Jace Anthony; a God daughter, Tyechia Auston of Newberry, SC; first cousins, Dorothy H. Brown (Joe) of Columbia, SC and Patricia H. Caldwell (John E.) of Newberry, SC; devoted cousins, Alvena M. Goudelock (Zebbie) of Newberry, SC and Barbara G Brooks of Irmo, SC; and a host of nieces including a devoted niece, Millie Sims, nephews, other cousins and friends.

Graveside service with Military rites will be conducted 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 24, 2017 at Werts Cemetery in Newberry, SC.
