Mr. Joe Louis Flemon,, Sr. 78, of 120 Garmany Drive, Pomaria, South Carolina entered into the arms of Jesus on Thursday, October 22, 2015 at his residence. He was born in Pomaria, SC on July 16, 1937 to the late Mr. John Flemon and the late Mrs. Willie Mae Holley Flemon.  

He was a member of New Faith Community Church in Pomaria, SC. He was also a member of the Sons of Aid Society.

Mr. Flemon was an Army Veteran of the Korean War.

Those who celebrate his life and cherish precious and loving memories are his wife, Marlene Williams Flemon of the home; six sons, Joe Louis Flemon, Jr. (Sharon) and Christopher Lyles all of Newberry, SC, Donell Hall (Rebecca) and William Allen Taylor, Jr. all of Pomaria, SC, Mickley Taylor of Knoxville, Tennessee and Rayford Hall of Columbia, SC; two daughters, Carriett Flemon Bowers (Terry) of Newberry, SC and Sheryle Denise Flemon of Columbus, Ohio; 17 grandchildren including three grandchildren who reared in the home, Brandon Flemon (Ashley), Jarvis Markis Flemon and Desmond Flemon, Sr.; 10 great grandchildren including one loving and special great grandson, Desmond Flemon, Jr.; one great great grandson; one brother, Thomas Flemon (Marion) of Pomaria, SC; two sisters, Hattie Moorehead (Robin) of Columbus, Ohio and Tenetha Flemon Hall (Henry) of Pomaria, SC; two brothers-in-law, John Henry Williams and Jeffie Williams (Edna) all of Columbia, SC; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  

The family will receive friends at the home of his daughter, Carriett Bowers (Terry) (58 Devon Road, Newberry, SC).

Funeral service and burial will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. on Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at Saint Paul AME Church in Pomaria, SC. (Viewing one hour prior to the service).
