Mr. Vasser Cornell Lyles

Mr. Vasser Cornell Lyles, affectionally known as “Fat Back” of 1451 Hughey Ferry Road, Pomaria, SC entered into Eternal rest on November 8, 2017 at his residence. He was born September 6, 1953 in Pomaria, SC to the late Mr. Phillip W. Davis and the late Mrs. Mary Frances Lyles Davis.

At an early age, he was baptized at Saint Mark A.M.E. Church in Pomaria, SC.

He retired from Kraft Foods.

Those who celebrate his life and cherish precious and loving memories are his wife, Alice Lean Cooper Lyles; one daughter, Laura Henry (Joey) of Newberry, SC; 5 grandchildren; one great grandchild; one brother, Kenneth Paul Lyles (Betty) of Pomaria; a sister, Phyllis Davis Asford of Poamria, SC; two uncles, Roy Whitney (Margie) of Greenville, SC and William Whitney (Margaret) of Pomaria; three aunts, Dollie Martain (Roosevelt) of Columbia, SC, Brenda Whitney of Greenville, SC and Evelyn Turner (James) of Charlotte, NC; 5 brothers-in-law; three sisters-in-law; nieces, including a devoted niece, Crystal Gibson; nephews, cousins and friends  

The family will receive friends at the home (1451 Hughey Ferry Road, Pomaria, SC).

 Funeral service will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 11, 2017 at Saint Matthew Baptist Church, 61 Boundary Street, Newberry, SC (viewing one hour prior to the service). Burial will follow in Werts Cemetery in Newberry.
