Mrs. Dorothy Mae Jackson Davis

Mrs. Dorothy Mae Jackson Davis, affectionately known to many as “Dot”, was born in Newberry County on January 1, 1940, to the late Sarah Burton. Dorothy was reared by the late Hexie and Mariah Jackson, Dorothy departed this life on Saturday, January 16, 2016, at Self Regional Hospital, Greenwood, South Carolina.

Dorothy was an active member of Little River Baptist Church where she faithfully served on the Senior Choir and the Missionary.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Pressley, Sr. and a daughter, Molly Sarahester Davis.

Those who celebrate her life and cherish precious and loving memories include two daughters, Joanne Davis and Maggie L. Davis, both of the home; one son, John Pressley Davis, Jr. (Sandra) of Greenwood, South Carolina; one granddaughter, Michelle L. Davis of the home; one great-granddaughter, Aaliyah Griffin of the home; one aunt, Annie Harris of Rhode Island; special cousins, Mattie Simmons and Margaret Cook of Gray Court, South Carolina; two brothers-in-law; four sisters-in-law; and a host of cousins and friends who will dearly miss her.

Funeral services and burial will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, January 21, 2016 at Little River Baptist Church in Silverstreet, SC. (viewing one hour prior to the service).
