Mrs. Mamie Lee Wright

Mrs. Mamie Lee Mathis Wright, 68, of 1535 Graham Cemetery Road, Pomaria, South Carolina entered into the arms of Jesus on Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at Newberry County Memorial Hospital in Newberry, SC. She was born in Pomaria, SC on April 4, 1947 to the late Mr. Johnny Mathis, Sr. and the late Mrs. Ola Clamp Mathis.  

She was a member of New Enoree Baptist Church in Newberry, SC.

Mrs. Wright was preceded to Heaven by one son, Eric L. Wright, Sr; one daughter, Doretha Wright; one sister, Ola Mae Tobe and three brothers, Bobby Mathis, Drayton Mathis and Johnny Mathis, Jr.

Those who celebrate her life and cherish precious and loving memories include her husband, James Luther Wright of the home; two sons, Ricky Dean Wright of the home and James Hulie Wright (Jessica) of Newberry, SC; three daughters, Dinette Wright of Newberry, SC, Tammy Martin (Drexal) of Blair, SC and Glendora Wright of the home; 15 grandchildren including four who reared in the home, Eric L. Wright, Jr, Brittany Wright, Cordessia Mettz and Ja’Niyah Gibson; five great grandchildren; one sister, Laura Faye Wadlington (Lenzy) of Blair, SC; one aunt, Mrs. Vera Caldwell of New York; mother-in-law, Mrs. Ella Mae Wright of Hampton, Virginia; four brothers-in-law; six sisters-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The family will receive friends at the home (1535 Graham Cemetery Road, Pomaria, SC).

Funeral service and burial will be conducted at 2:30 P.M. on Sunday, December 6, 2015 at New Enoree Baptist Church, 190 Dover Lane, Newberry, SC (viewing one hour prior to the service).
