Terry Peterson, age 65 from Chappells, SC, entered into the arms of his Savior on January 24th, 2024, at Self Regional Medical Center where he fought a courageous battle. When called home, he was met at the Heavenly gate by his father, Levester Peterson Sr., mother, Carrie Lou Harris Peterson and his brothers, Christopher and Curt Peterson.
Terry was born in Ninety Six, South Carolina on September 06th, 1958, to his loving parents. To that union five children were born. Terry was often described as quiet, hardworking, head strong, meek, soft-spoken, witty and musically inclined. He was a lover of all music, but his favorite song was “Something About the Name Jesus” by Rance Allen. Terry often enjoyed working on his priceless 1990 GMC Sonoma blue pickup truck.
One of his favorite sayings was “But Yet and Still”, wise words that we’d all be smart to continue to live by, depending on his mood.
Terry graduated from Ninety Six High School in 1976 and later attended Newberry College. At an early age he was encouraged by his maternal grandmother to join Friendship Baptist Church in Ninety Six, SC. After marriage, he attended Scurry Spring Hill Baptist Church in Chappells, SC with the love of his life, his beautiful wife, Lozetta, of 39 years. He served as a member of the Trustees and Choir Ministry at Scurry Spring Hill Baptist. Later in life, he became a faithful attendee of Young Mt. Zion where he joined the Praise Team Ministry.
Terry began working at the age of 18 up until his retirement at the age of 65. Known for his strong head characteristics, Terry wouldn’t allow any employer to mistreat him or his coworkers. Standing for what he believed to be right sometimes led him to seek employment elsewhere. But Terry stood on his faith knowing that his earthly resource was not his actual source from whom blessings flowed.
Those who celebrate his precious life and cherish his loving memories include his wife, Lozetta F. Peterson of Chappells, SC; sons, Kerry M. Peterson of Spartanburg, SC and Kelly L. Peterson of Chappells, SC; grand dog, Kinsley of Spartanburg, SC; brothers, Levester Peterson Jr (Helen) of Greenwood, SC, and Larry Peterson (Vicki) of Atlanta, GA; nieces, Carolyn Capri Peterson and Kyndal S.
