Ms. Ruby Gallman, beloved daughter of the late T. C. and Elizabeth Boyd Gallman was born on December 18, 1942 in Newberry, South Carolina. She departed this life peacefully on Wednesday, March 27, 2024 at home surrounded by family.
She attended school in Newberry County, was employed at Kraft Heinz for over forty years and attended Mt. Moriah AME Church in Prosperity, SC at a young age.
Ruby was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Jessie and Maude Boyd; three sisters, Mary Ellen Williams, Mary Cannon and Pearline Dewalt along with a brother, James Gallman.
Her legacy of love and devotion will continue through two daughters, Patricia Williams and Rudean Harris of Newberry, SC; children reared as her own, Mary Davis of Newberry, SC, Melissa Gallman and Lisa Gallman of Prosperity, SC and Barbara Gallman of Newberry, SC; one sister, Nettie Gallman of Union, SC; six aunts, Shirley Rutherford of Pomaria, SC, Bertha Kessler of Little Mountain, SC, Mattie Williams, of Newberry, SC, Bonnie Holley of Newberry, SC, Martha Boyd of Prosperity, SC and Annette Kinsler (Robert) of Prosperity, SC; one uncle, Murray Boyd of Silverstreet, SC; five grandchildren, Christopher Gallman, Antonio Williams, David Gallman, Malcolm Harris, and Yolanda Harris; twenty four great-grandchildren; devoted friends, Clyde Mathis, Bertha Bowers, Faye Henley, Emma Lee Griffin, Calvin Davis, Betty Wise, Bernice Stephens, Lilla Maybin and Brenda Werts along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will miss her dearly.
Visitation will be held Thursday, April 4, 2024 from 2:00 to 6:00 pm in the parlor of Wilson Funeral Home.
Funeral services for Ms. Ruby Gallman will be conducted Friday, April 5, 2024 at 3:00 pm in the sanctuary of Mt. Moriah AME Church, 1628 Ira Kinard Rd, Prosperity, SC, where Rev. Dr. Sherry Highbaugh is the pastor and Rev. Jacqueline Sims, Eulogist.
Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
