Reverend Dr. Fred Nathaniel Crump lived a life dedicated to service. He was born on June 12, 1932, to the late Reverend Porterfield and Mrs. Fannie Wyatt Crump. He entered into the arms of Jesus on Thursday, June 20, 2019. Fred is one of Fifteen Siblings. His early education began at Belmont Elementary School and he later progressed to Drayton Street High School.
While attending church with his family, he began to feed his faith at Belmont Baptist Church in Silverstreet, SC. He was a hard working farmer with dreams of serving his country. He later joined the United States Army and fought in Korean War. After time, Fred received his high school diploma and later promoted to Sergeant. Over a period of time, he was honorably discharged and chose Washington, DC as his residence.
Fred began a forty-three year career at the Naval Research Lab, where he received several outstanding awards and commendations for his achievements and service. He was a decorated thirty-three Degree Mason and a Shriner.
Fred had faith and unwavering trust in God. Later, he enrolled as a student at Washington Saturday College at Howard University and received his Doctorate Degree of Religious Education. Over the years, God was faithful and guided Fred to meet and marry his beloved wife, Mrs. Joan Crump. To this union, two beautiful daughters was born, TaWana “Robin” Crump and Sharlisa “Candy” Crump.
He was preceded to Heaven by four brothers, James Crump, Pleas Crump, Porterfield Crump, Jr. and Reverend Richard Carroll Crump, Sr.; eight sisters, Lucille Crump Hall, Fannie Crump Higgins, Mima Crump Suber, Authuree Crump Wilson, Lillie Crump Mayes, Dorothy Crump Spencer, Elvis Crump Resper, and Reverend Alice Crump Bates.
Trusting and believing that he was called by God the Almighty to serve, he completed his Doctoral Studies and later became assistant pastor at New Fountain Baptist Church in Washington, DC. Reverend Crump later joined Saint Job Baptist Church and became pastor within six months. He pastored Saint Job Baptist Church for thirteen wonderful and dedicated years.
Those who celebrate his life and cherish precious and loving memories include his loving and devoted wife, Mrs. Joan Crump; three daughters, Joanie Bullard (Claude), TaWana “Robin” Holland (Alex) and Sharlise “Candy” Spindle (Linwood, Jr.); two sons, Renaud “Ronnie” Robinson and David Dujuan Robinson; seven grandchildren; George “Mann” Washington (Theresa), Khalil Holland, Epiphany Holland, Nathaniel Spindle, Linwood “Julian” Spindle, III, Crystal Spindle and Noami Spindle; five great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; one sister-in-law, Mrs. Emma Lee Crump; two brothers-in-law, Mr. Tony Spencer and Mr. Carnell Thomas; one loving and devoted nephew, Michael Wilson (Cheryl) and a host of nieces, other nephews, cousins and friends.

Celebration of life for Reverend Dr. Fred N. Crump will be held 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 3, 2019 at the Beloved Community Church, 17500 Indian Head Highway, Acccokeek, MD.
