Mr. Jackie Robinson

Mr. Jackie Robinson, a much-loved father, brother, uncle and friends entered into eternal rest on January 25, 2019. He was the son of the late Willie James and Stacie Robinson, born on August 25, 1956.

Jackie attended Newberry County Schools. After high school, he joined the United States Army where he was in active service for ten years. Jackie remained in the National Guard until 1996. In addition to serving in the military, Jackie was also a supervisor at Artichill in Newberry, SC. Jackie was a very devoted servant of Jehovah God and will be missed.

He was predeceased by four brothers, Jerry Robinson, Roddie Moon, Charles Robinson and Louis Robinson.

Those who celebrate his life and cherish precious and loving memories include his wife, Audrey Michelle Robinson; one son, Taurean Robinson of Columbia, SC; two daughters, Jacqueline Robinson of Spartanburg, SC and Ju’kiyah Mashay Scurry of Galivants Ferry, SC; one grandson, Kamari Robinson of Spartanburg, SC; one brother, Bennie Earl Robinson of Newberry, SC; six sisters, Julia Lindsay of Dover, DE, Shirley Kinard of Newberry, SC, Willie Mae Caldwell (Rev. Joseph) and Betty Boles (Glynn) of Greenwood, SC, Nancy Darbins of Clinton, SC, and Geraldine Bookman (Bruce) of Little Mountain, SC; two aunts, Lillie Felder of Atlanta, GA and Sarah White Philadelphia, PA; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The family will receive friends at the home of his sister, Mrs. Shirley Kinard (1139 Copeland Street Apt. 102, Newberry).

Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 31, 2019 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, 1907 Dixie Drive, Newberry, SC. Interment will follow with Military honors at Fort Jackson National Cemetery, 4170 Percival Rd, Columbia, SC 29229.
