Mr. Joe Eddie Wicker

Mr. Joe Eddie Wicker, entered into Eternal rest on December 11, 2017, at J.F. Hawkins Nursing Facility in Newberry, SC. He was born in Pomaria, SC, on August 10, 1933, to the late David Wicker, Sr., and the late Ella Williams Wicker.

Mr. Wicker was a member of St. James A.M.E. Church and was a member of the Sons of Aid Society Lodge #57.

He retired from Packaging Corporation of America (PCA) with over thirty years of service. Joe enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting, butchering and most of all cooking barbeque. 

Mr. Wicker was the last living sibling of his immediate family. He was predeceased by his siblings, Beatrice Cannon, J.C. Wicker, Fannie M. Bethea, Carrie Lee Blair, David Wicker, Jr., George Albert Wicker, Clara Hunter, and Freddie Lee Wicker, Sr.

Those who celebrate his life and cherish precious and loving memories include a lifelong companion, Martha B. Livingston of Newberry, SC; two sons, John David Livingston of Greenville, SC, and Keith Livingston (Shantel) of Chapin, SC; two stepsons, Thomas Oxner and Joseph Livingston both of Newberry, SC; four daughters, Cynthia Whitney of Greenville, SC, Brenda Curry of Newberry, SC, Donna Hicks (Frank) of Pomaria, SC, and Tammy Wicker Hall (Johnnie, III) of Chapin, SC; two stepdaughters, Ella Louise Livingston and Ola Livingston, both of Newberry, SC; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-one great grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; three sisters-in-law; one brother-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends

Funeral service will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 16, 2017 at Saint Matthew Baptist Church, 61 Boundary Street, Newberry, SC (viewing one hour prior to the service). Burial will follow in Newberry Memorial Gardens.
