Mr. Larry "Bo Diddley" Hawkins

Mr. Larry Hawkins, 63, affectionally known as “Bo Diddley” entered into Eternal Rest on Wednesday, September 14, 2016 at Palmetto Health Richland Hospital in Columbia, SC. He was born in Prosperity, SC to the late Nathaniel Taylor, Sr. and the late Luvenia Hawkins.

He was a member of Hannah AME Church in Newberry, SC.

Larry enjoyed laughing, talking and being in the midst of friends. He also enjoyed attending different churches and gospel programs.

Those who celebrate his life and cherish precious and loving memories are two daughters, Cynthia Chante Williams of Prosperity, SC and Ashley Sims of Newberry, SC; four grandchildren, Quanekia Williams, Christyanna Austin, Ciarra Worthy and Tramas Sims; two great grandchildren, Xavier Williams and Samari Caldwell; 8 brothers, Robert Hawkins (Georgia Faye) of Saluda, SC, Roger Hawkins of Washington, DC, Nathaniel Taylor, Jr. (Mary), David Taylor (Carolyn), Sammie Lewis Taylor (Carolyn), George Taylor (Rose Mary) all of Newberry, SC, Sammie Lee Taylor of Greenwood, SC and Jerry Taylor (Debbie) of LaPlato, Maryland; five sisters, Betty H. Lewis of Baltimore, Maryland, Lorriane Williams (Larry) of Oxon Hill, Maryland, Mary F. Boyd and Annie Davenport both of Prosperity, SC, Linda Langford (Otis) of Newberry, SC;and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The family will receive friends at the home of his sister, Ann Davenport (134 Federal Lane, Prosperity, SC).

Funeral service and burial will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 18, 2016 at Hannah AME Church, 116 Deadfall Road, Newberry, SC. (viewing one hour prior to the service).
