Mr. Olin Stephens, son of Mrs. Dora Mae Brown Stephens and the late Rev. Bennie Stephens, Jr., was born October 23, 1958 in Prosperity, SC. He entered into the arms of Jesus on Friday, January 11, 2019 at Palmetto Health Richland Hospital in Columbia, SC.
Mr. Stephens was a former employee of Bedenbaugh Logging of Prosperity, SC before his health declined. He was a graduate of Mid Carolina High School, Prosperity, SC.
He was an avid fan of the Carolina Panthers.
Mr. Stephens was predeceased by his father, Rev. Bennie Stephens, Jr.; two brothers, Clarence and James Willie Stephens; a sister, Mrs. Shirley Jean Stephens Pitts; a brother-in-law, Mr. Raphord Pitts.
Those who celebrate his life and cherish loving memories include his mother, Mrs. Dora Mae Brown Stephens, who calls him her “ BUD”; four brothers, Mr. Elbert Stephens (Jill) of Prosperity, SC, Mr. Jerry Stephens (Mary) of Monetta, SC, Mr. Henry Stephens, Sr. (Rhonda) and Mr. Ricky Stephens of Prosperity, SC; two sisters, Ms. Lorine F. Stephens (Anthony) and Ms. Cora Mae Stephens of Prosperity, SC; one God-sister, Mrs. Willette Bennett of Washington, DC; a God-daughter, Little Miss Imani Stephens of Columbia, SC; one brother-in-law, Mr. Louis Pitts of Prosperity, SC; three aunts, Mrs. Mary Stephens and Mrs. Eva Mae Brown, both of Prosperity, SC and Mrs. Rozell Lindsay of Columbia, SC; two uncles, Mr. Odus Brown of Prosperity, SC and Mr. Ralph Brown of Newberry, SC; fifty-five nieces and nephews, including two devoted nieces, Minister Crystal Pitts Glenn (John) of Spartanburg, SC and Ms. Shironda Stephens of Columbia, SC; three devoted nephews, Mr. Cortevis Stephens, who reared in the home, Mr. Henry Stephens, Jr. of Columbia, SC and Master Jonah Glenn of Spartanburg, SC; four devoted cousins, Mrs. Martha Dozier of Batesburg, SC, Ms. Ella Mitchell, Mrs. Matilda Lindler and Ms. Linda Bates, all of Prosperity, SC; a devoted friend, Mr. Anthony Crumpton of Prosperity, SC; and a host of cousins and friends who loved him dearly.
The family will receive friends at the home of his mother, 26 BENNIE STEPHENS, JR Road, PROSPERITY, SC. The family would like to thank the Amedisys Home Health of Newberry.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. on Monday, January 14, 2019 at Lower Mount Olive A.M.E. Church in Prosperity, SC. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
