Mr. Ronnie Caldwell, Sr.

Mr. Ronnie Caldwell Sr., son of Mrs. Bessie Dean Caldwell and the late Mr. Wilbur J. Caldwell, Sr. was born in Newberry, SC on November 15, 1956 and entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, September 10, 2019 at Prisma Health Richland Hospital in Columbia, SC.

Ronnie was a member of New Enoree Baptist Church and retired as a supervisor after twenty-five plus years of service at International Paper Board in Newberry, SC. Ronnie was a faithful coach and leader in the community mentoring young boys through coaching in football and baseball. Ronnie was a recipient of the Newberry Recreation Department for Coach Of The Year with his mentoring efforts and impact of the youth. Ronnie was an avid Pittsburgh Steeler fan and loved his beautiful children and grandchildren. 

Ronnie is survived by his son, Ronnie Caldwell, Jr. of Columbia, SC; two daughters, Rhonda Sims (Jermaine Sims) of Blythewood, SC and Roniece Caldwell of Newberry, SC; two brothers, Wilbur Caldwell, Jr. of Newberry, SC and Rogdrick Caldwell of Newberry, SC; five grandchildren, Aymir Caldwell, Asher Smith, Nazir Cromer, Raylyn Sims and Elijah Sims; special friends, Willie & Eda Graham, Van Singleton, James Herbert Nance and Randy Caldwell; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be held 12:00 p.m. on Monday, September 16, 2019 at New Enoree Baptist Church in Newberry, SC. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
