Mr. Willie "Shag" Hayes Wilson

Mr. Willie Hayes Wilson, affectionally known as “Shag”, of 1935 Indian Hill Apt. #100, Newberry, South Carolina entered into Eternal rest on September 13, 2017 at Palmetto Health Richland Hospital in Columbia, SC. He was born July 30, 1955 in Newberry, County SC to the late Ms. Lizzie Hester Wilson.

He was predeceased by a brother, Henry Wilson and a sister, Lucille Wilson.

Those who celebrate his life and cherish precious and loving memories are two sons, Dantoni “Danny” Thompson (Kizzy) and Dectovias Thompson, both of Newberry, SC; one daughter, Lashonda Thompson of Newberry, SC; six grandchildren; one brother, Curtis Wilson of Newberry, SC; two sisters, Marie Wilson Whitaker of Greenwood, SC and Daisy Wilson Gibson of Newberry, SC; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, including three devoted friends, Kimberly Wright, Tony Smith and Jimmy Suber.

The family will receive friends at the home his son, Dantoni “Danny” Thompson (Kizzy), 1205 3rd Street, Newberry, SC.

Funeral service will be conducted 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at Saint Matthew Baptist Church, 61 Boundary Street, Newberry, SC (viewing one hour prior to the service).
