Mrs. Thelma Stephens Bouknight, of 234 Green Acres Road, Silverstreet, SC entered into Eternal rest on Saturday, October 21, 2017 at her residence. Born April 17, 1931 in Silverstreet, SC, she was the daughter of the late Mr. Arthur Madden Stephens and Mrs. Queen Elizabeth Tribble Stephens.
She was a member of Little River Baptist Church where she served as a Deaconess, President of the Missionary Society, Pastor’s Aide, leader of the senior choir and a former usher in the church.
Mrs. Bouknight was preceded to Heaven by her husband, Mr. Henry Bouknight, Sr.; one son, Freddie Stephens; a daughter, Queen E. Bouknight; four brothers, Wilbur Stephens, Sr., Eugene Stephens, Arthur Stephens and Eskro John Williams and three sisters, Annie Mae Epps, Lizziell Jackson and Ruby Harmon.
Those who celebrate her life and cherish precious and loving memories include three sons, Tommie Lee Stephens (Velma), Henry Bouknight, Jr. and Cortez M. Bouknight, all of Silverstreet, SC; four daughters, Gloria A. Cannon of Columbia, SC, Sarah E. Boyd of Silverstreet, SC, Joyce C. Dunbar (John, Sr.) of Newberry, SC and Maxine Bouknight McWilliams of Austin, Texas; 17 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; brothers-in-law, James Bouknight, M L Bouknight, Nathaniel Boukinght, all of Silverstreet, SC; sisters-in-law, Jessie Lee Bouknight, Byres and Mary A. Bouknight, both of Lexington, SC and Bernice Jones Stephens of Newberry, SC; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The family will receive friends at the home (234 Green Acres Road, Silverstreet, SC).
Funeral service will be conducted 2:00 P.M. Friday, October 27, 2017 at Little River Baptist Church (viewing one hour prior to the service). Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
