Mrs. Vera Mae Glasgow Young

Mrs. Vera Mae Glasgow Young entered into eternal rest on Sunday, December 15, 2019 at White Oak Manor-Newberry. She was born in Prosperity, SC on July 14, 1931 to the late Mr. James Glasgow and the late Mrs. Lena Hendrix Glasgow.

She was a member of Mount Moriah A.M.E. Church.

Those who celebrate her life and cherish fond and loving memories include four sons, Ray Anthony Young of Bennettsville, SC, Willie E. Young, Ronnie Young (Martha) and Larry Young (Cynthia) all of Prosperity, SC; sixteen grandchildren, including two granddaughters reared in the home, Tanika Free and Falina Burnside Sims; forty-one great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; brother-in-law, Johnny Young of Greensboro, NC; and a host of nieces, including a devoted niece, Dorothy Faye Bookman; nephews, cousins and friends.   

The family will receive friends at the home of her son, Willie E. Young (247 Swittenburg Drive, Prosperity, SC).

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 19, 2019 at Mount Moriah A.M.E. Church, 1628 Ira Kinard Road, Prosperity, SC 29127 (viewing one hour prior to the service). Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
