Mrs. Viola "Miss Dot" Boyd

Mrs. Viola Taylor Boyd, widow of Mr. Bennie Lee Boyd was born June 11, 1929 to Mrs. Julia Mae Wise Taylor. She departed her Earthly life on April 27, 2019 surrounded by family. Miss Dot as she was affectionally called was the rock to her children and family and friend to all. 

Viola was a member of Mount Moriah A.M.E. Church where she joined at an early age. She was also a member of the Woman’s Home Aid Society Lodge #

She was predeceased by her husband of sixty-three years; son, Bobby Boyd; granddaughter, Romonica Wise; daughter-in-law, Mamie Hawkins Boyd; great grandson, DeMarcus Davis; and sister, Annie Mae Williams.

She is survived by her children, Mary Howard of West Haven, Connecticut, Moses Boyd of Prosperity, SC, John Boyd (Leona) of Spring Valley, California, Charles Boyd (Shirley) of Prosperity, SC, Maye Belle Boyd of the home, Dorothy B. Hall of Lexington, SC; one grandson reared in the home, H. Mikohl Boyd; numerous of grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren, whom she loved and cared for as her own; a niece, Annie L. Caldwell of Prosperity, SC; nephew, Randy Williams of Jersey City, NJ and a host of cousins and friends.

The family will receive friends at 2432 Seibert Road, Prosperity. 

Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. on Friday, May 3, 2019 at Mount Moriah A.M.E. Church in Prosperity. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
