On Monday, December 16th, 2019, just as the sun began to dawn a new day, Karen Alverta Flemon Albert entered the arms of Jesus Christ at Lexington Medical Center in West Columbia, SC. Karen, daughter of the late Mary Alverta Flemon Gorie and the late Hubert Gorie, Sr, she was born March 15, 1965 in Prosperity, SC.
Karen was a member of St. Paul AME Church in Pomaria, SC. She worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant for many years. Karen was a founding member of the popular quartet group, Panacea, and the Founder & President of the ThrowBack Divas Social Club.
She was preceded in death by her parents, maternal grandparents, John and Willie Mae Holley Flemon, who raised her, one sister, Francena Cromer, three uncles, three aunts, and special nephew, La’Quan Parker, Jr.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories; three sons, La’Quindon, Chadrin, and Maricus Flemon; eight grandchildren that she loved with all her heart, A’maya Flemon, Ammamarianna Wheeler, Kaedyn Flemon, Jayden Flemon, Caleb Ruff, Jala K Flemon, Cayleen Flemon, and Skylar Flemon; one special neice reared in the home, Holley F Glymph; four brothers, Hugh (Jasmine) Gorie of Spartanburg, SC, McAlister Reid of Newberry, SC and John Earl (Taerran) of Charlotte, NC, Eddie Richard Heller of Pomaria, SC; seven sisters, Beverly (Ernie) Harris of Charlotte, NC, Laurette (James) Wise of Prosperity, SC, Cindy (Dennis) McCullough of Charlotte, NC, Helen Cherry of .Wilmington, Delaware, Debra Gray of Atlanta, Georgia, Earnestine (Frank) Nikonchuck of Newberry, SC, Sabrina McDonald of Columia, SC; three aunts, Evangelist Hattie (Bishop Robin) Morehead of Columbus, Ohio, Tenetha Hall of Columbia, SC, Marlene Flemon of Pomaria, SC; two uncles, Thomas (Marion) Flemon and Henry Hall, Sr. of Pomaria, SC; three godchildren, Christopher, Kentavion, and Tamaria Wadsworthof Chappels, SC; a host of neices, nephews, other family members and friends who will dearly miss her.
Funeral services will be conducted 12:00 p.m. on Monday, December 23, 2019 at Bethlehem Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Saint Paul A.M.E. Church Cemetery 1945 Hope Station Rd. Pomaria, SC.
