Rev. Annie L. Minus

Reverend Annie Lee Minus, daughter of the late Mr. Willie Kelly and the late Mrs. Lilly Jones Kelly, was born on June 27, 1923, in Newberry, South Carolina. On Thursday, December 6, 2018, the Reverend Annie Lee Minus entered into eternal rest at her residence. Reverend Minus attended the Newberry County Public School System graduating from Drayton Street High School. She continued her education at the Metropolitan School of Nursing in New York City where she graduated with Honors. Annie felt a calling on her life to teach and impart God's word to as many souls as she could. In 1967, Annie was ordained into the ministry in New York City. In order to complete her mission, she returned to South Carolina in 2012, and taught Friday bible study until her health started to decline. Reverend Minus was an active member of the church from early childhood and after her return to Newberry, she became affiliated with the Bethlehem Baptist Church Family. Discussing the Bible and singing hymns brought her great joy. She enjoyed watching her family grow and hearing about their accomplishments. Reverend Minus was predeceased by her husband, Walter; son, Michael; two sisters and five brothers. Those who share precious and loving memories include two nieces, Dorothy Reeder and Carol Kelly both of New Jersey, a God-daughter, Angela Loyal (Sidney); and a host of nieces, nephews and dear friends. She is also survived by her church families in New York and South Carolina. Auntie, well done. A life well lived.

Funeral services will be conducted 12:00 Noon on Saturday, December 15, 2018 at Bethlehem Baptist Church, 1501 College Street, Newberry, SC (The family will receive friends at the church from 11:00 p.m.- 12:00 Noon). Burial will follow in Newberry Memorial Gardens.
