Bernard Gonzales Werts

Mr. Bernard Gonzales Werts was born in Newberry, SC to Mrs. Jonel Werts Cooper and the late Mr. James W. Cooper.  Bernard entered eternal rest on Wednesday August 21, 2024 at Forest Acres Post Acute in Columbia, SC.

Mr. Werts was educated in the Newberry County Schools.

Bernard was predeceased by his father, James W. Cooper; Grandmother, Queen Cooper; grandfather, James Hill; and Aunt Mattie Lois Werts.

He leaves to cherish precious memories his mother, Jonel Werts Cooper, two sons, Kappala Caldwell and Demetrius Williams; two brothers Darryl (Donna) Werts and Kelvin Cooper of Columbia, SC; one sister, Ms. Paula Hare of Columbia, SC; 4 aunts; 3 uncles and a host of other relatives and friends.

A special thanks to his aunt Mildred Cooper.  We pray God's blessings upon each of you.

Memorial Service 3:00 pm Saturday August 24, 2024 in the chapel of Wilson Funeral Home.

The family will receive visitors at 3491 Chick Dr. Apt. 74, Newberry, SC.
