Bobby Mayer

Our beloved Mr. Billie Bob “Bobby” Mayer, 84, of Newberry South Carolina, transitioned on Monday, July 21, 2025.

He was the loving son of the late Mr. Arthur Bennie Mayer and the late Mrs. Lillie Mae Caldwell Mayer.

He was educated at Rikard Elementary School in Prosperity, SC continued his education in the public school in Montclair, NJ.

He was employed with the City of Newberry with the Sanitation Department until his retirement.

Bobby had a quiet spirit and loved his family.

Bobby was preceded to Heaven by his six brothers, James A. Mayer, Adam B. Mayer, Johnny W. Mayer, Jasper Mayer, Herbert B. Mayer and Timothy Mayer; four sisters, Virginia M. Jones, Doris W. Neealy, Edna R. McMorris and Ida Frances Marilyn Mayer.

Those who celebrate his life and cherish precious and loving memories are four sisters, Willie Mae M. Brown of Greenville, SC, Betty M. Corley of Norristown, PA, Jeanette Jackson of Sumter, SC and Lillie Tobe of Irmo, SC; one sister-in-law, Rose G. Mayer of Montclair, NJ, in addition, he is survived by over 140 nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great- great nieces and great- great nephews.

Visitation will be held 1-5pm Saturday July 26, 2025, Wilson Funeral Home Newberry, SC.

Graveside services will be held 3pm Sunday July 27, 2025, Newberry Memorial Gardens Newberry, SC.
