Mr. Calvin Eugene Sims beloved son of Nora Lee Glymph Sims and the late Willie James Sims, Sr., was born on August 15, 1962 in Newberry, South Carolina. He entered eternal rest on December 5, 2023 at Newberry County Memorial Hospital.
Calvin graduated from Mid- Carolina High School and was employed with Louis Rich. He loved the outdoors and was always willing to help others in need. Calvin had a heart of love for his family.
He was predeceased by his father, Willie James Sims, Sr. and his sister, Linda Kaye Suber.
Those who celebrate his life and cherish precious and loving memories include his son, James Kelly Wadsworth; nine grandchildren, Quateria Wadsworth, Dynisty Wadsworth, Kellionna Wadsworth, Mia Wadsworth, Nadia Wadsworth, Kason Wadsworth, Karon Gary, Logan Wadsworth and Kaevion Eigner; one great grandchild, Naylan Booker; his loving mother, Nora Lee Sims of Newberry, SC; two sisters, Mischele (Charles) Trapp of Blair, SC and Geraldine (Willie) Kibler of Newberry, SC; two brothers, Willie James (Martha) Sims Jr. and Melvin Sims both of Newberry, SC; a brother in law, James Clyde Suber of Silverstreet, SC; two aunts, Sarah (Henry) Glasgow and Evelyn Ruth Marshall both of Columbia, SC; a close friend of the family, Mary Wicker Sims along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will miss him deeply.
Visitation will be held Friday, December 8, 2023 from 3 to 6 pm in the parlor of Wilson Funeral Home.
Funeral services for Mr. Calvin E. Sims will be conducted on Saturday, December 9, 2023 at 11:00 am in the sanctuary of Fairview Baptist Church, 5424 Highway 34 Newberry, SC where Rev. Marilyn Boulware is the Pastor.
Interment will follow in Newberry Memorial Gardens.
