Christopher Charles Curry, affectionately known as “Critt,” passed away at Prisma Health Richland Hospital on May 16, 2024 surrounded by his family. He was born on May 9, 1987 to Paula Lavonna Curry and the late John Henry Mayers.
At an early age, Critt gave his life to Christ and spent many years worshiping at Providence A.M.E. Church in Little Mountain, SC. He was educated in the public school system of Chapin, SC. He continued his education studying carpentry as well as did work in security.
Critt had many interests and talents. He really loved his dogs. He spent hours upon hours caring for, breeding and loving on his dogs. He was a great cook and an avid fisherman. He loved motorcycles and was an active member of the motor sports club Bad Boyz MSC Columbia.
Above all, Critt was most passionate about his love for family and friends. Anytime he was called upon, Critt was there. He made people smile and lit up the room everywhere he went. He made jokes and kept everyone around him laughing.
In addition to his father, Critt was preceded to heaven by his grandmothers Mrs. Jennie L. Mayers and Ms. Sara L. Meggett, his grandfather Mr. Tim Curry, his uncle and godfather Mr. Charles B. “Yick” Mayers and uncle Mr. Leroy Davis.
Critt was loved by so many people, and those who celebrate his life and legacy include his son, Asher C. Curry of Prosperity, SC; his mother, Paula Curry of Newberry, SC; his grandfather, Mr. Charles Mayers of Chapin, SC; his brothers, Clarence Curry (Shenita) of Columbia, SC and Joshua Curry of Irmo, SC; his sisters, Chrishonda Jackson (Reggie) of Little Mountain, SC and Courtney Curry of Chapin, SC; cousins raised as siblings in the home, Kymberly Brown and Zoi Mayers both of Columbia, SC, Kyle Brown of Chapin, SC, and Robert Wright of Irmo, SC; nephews, Aiden Cunningham of Newberry, SC and Prince Landen Curry of Columbia, SC; nieces, Zy’Sha Cunningham of Newberry, SC and Caitlyn Curry of Columbia, SC; great-nephew, Majestic Cunningham of Newberry SC; godchildren, Haylea Hicks and MaKayla Kinard both of Newberry, SC, Malina Washington of Chapin, SC and Jazzmine Green of Monroe, NC; mother of his child, Audryanna Kinsler of Prosperity, SC; sister-in-law, Stephanie Curry of Columbia, SC; devoted cousins, Tyrek Mayers, Terrance Mayers, and Brandon Mayers all of Chapin, SC, LaTesha Greeley of Newberry, SC, Desaray Greeley and Willie Greeley both of Irmo, SC, Carlos Greeley and Kenyada Jones both of Little Mountain, SC; devoted friend, Tabitha Pollock of Columbia, SC; godfather, Anthony Parker of Columbia, SC; seven uncles; six aunts and a host of great-aunts, great-uncles, cousins, other family members and friends.
