I am writing this letter to my committed and dutiful wife, my tenacious strong sons and my devoted, selfless daughter, also my other grieving family and friends. I want you to know that I learned many things through life- my knowledge started growing as a son and brother, but my most valued and memorable growth stemmed from being a husband and father. As a husband and father, I learned how not only to be a great man, but a strong God centered partner and pillar.
Thank you all for being a part of my life’s passage. Just know that I am just closing my eyes for a moment. I may not be able to comfort you now but remember I am always with…the mark that I instilled in you…always carry it, that way you have me always. Carry me in your heart.
This day may be hard, but it comes in everyone’s life; we are called to Glory not on our time but on His time, the same way He takes care of us coming in the world, He embraces going out. If you are reading this, it means it is my time. Whenever you feel overwhelmed, remember me and straighten your crown. When life tries to knock you down, I will still have your back. Always keep me in your heart. Remember my love for that is one thing that time nor my presence can ever change.
~ Your Husband, Your Father, Your Loved One

He is a home grown, true native and a part of Richland County, South Carolina history. He entered his eternal life on Tuesday January 9, 2024, at MUSC Providence Hospital, Columbia, South Carolina. He has been married for 40 years to Demerias Wilson Dreher.
As a young boy, he began to feed his faith at Zion Canaan and later accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age and joined Saint John Baptist Church, Columbia, South Carolina under the pastorate of Reverend Roscoe C. Wilson, Sr. He graduated from C.A. Johnson High School, class of 1962. Then went on to attend Benedict College, Columbia, South Carolina. As his faith grew God called him to be ordained as a deacon at Belmont Baptist under the leadership of Rev Freddie Wicker.
Anthony was best known as “The Glass Master”. His craft was honed from working with his father and brother, he continued to share his knowledge by teaching, training, and “supervising”his loved ones. His interest in learning about his relatives led him to establish the Dreher Family Reunion on August 4, 1979, which was held in Columbia, S.C. Never hesitating to lend his professional services for renovations or beautification to his family or friends homes, he grew his knowledge from just glass masonry to complete renovations.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory his devoted wife, Demerias; daughter Torree (David ‘Coop’) Cooper; along with his sons Anthony ‘Tony’ (Charlene) H. Dreher, Jr. and Landy (Shaneki) Bell; grandchildren.
