Earl Jones

Mr. Earl Robert Jones was born in Pomaria, SC on May 20, 1964, to the late Roy Lee Jones and the late Vernel Ruff Jones. Mr. Jones passed away on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at Newberry County Hospital.

Mr. Jones attended Newberry County School and was employed at Precision Fiber Glass and Hardees of Newberry until he retired. He enjoyed fishing and his favorite baseball team was the Atlanta Braves.

Mr. Jones predeceased in death by his mother Vernell R. Jones; father, Roy L. Jones; Grandparents, Aunts and Uncles.

Mr. Jones is survived by his lovely wife of 34 years Frances Jones of the home; son, Michael Ruff of Newberry, SC; one adopted daughter, Tyressa Cunningham of Newberry, SC; three brothers, James “Tim” Ruff of Rock Hill, SC, Tony Jones and Travis Jones of Pomaria, SC; four grandchildren, one uncle Walter Ruff; two aunts Nita Francis of Prosperity and Donna Counts of Little Mountain, SC, devoted cousins Rev. Richard Williams and  Marvin Williams and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.

Memorial Services will be held 2pm Sunday March 9, 2025, St. Matthews Baptist Church Newberry, SC 29108

Family will receive friends at the Home 3443 SC Hwy 773 Pomaria, SC 29126.
