Elder Paul Eugene Williams, Jr., aged 93, passed away on August 4, 2024, in Greenville, South Carolina. Born on February 11, 1931, in Norristown, Pennsylvania, he dedicated much of his life to his faith, family, and community.
Paul graduated from Newberry County Public School and furthered his education at Philadelphia Bible College. He honorably served in the Air Force, where he embraced the discipline and camaraderie that military life offered. His commitment to service continued into his civilian life where he spent 20 years in ministry at the Greater Exodus Church. He was also a theologian and the founder of Love In Action ministry, impacting many lives through his deep faith and dedication.
He was a devout member of the Church of Jesus Christ Sabbath Day, where he practiced his faith and served the community. Paul’s personal life was filled with joy derived from hobbies such as fishing, working on cars, and cooking, each of which allowed him a creative and practical outlet.
Paul was the beloved husband of Linda Williams and a cherished father to Shelly Watson (Reginald), Shakeem Koon (LaShanda), Charles Williams (Aleisha), and Trevis Sims. He was a proud grandfather and great-grandfather, leaving behind a legacy through his grandchildren Lamontra Sims, Jevvyn Mitchell, Shakeem Koon, Jr., Denzel Koon, I’mariyah Williams, LaNiyah Tribble, Shawn Tribble, Chanda Baker, Charisse Williams, and Cartier Cole, along with 11 great-grandchildren a great-great-grandchild and a long list of nieces, nephews and friends. He is also survived by his brothers, Lee Vernon and Rufus Williams (Doris).
Preceding him in death were his daughter Liana Daye, siblings Katie Shells, Elaine Hayes, Timothy, Earl, Curtis, Marion, and Patrick Williams.
The funeral service will be held at Belmont Baptist Church, 310 Belmont Church Road, Silverstreet, South Carolina 29145, on August 24, 2024, at 2:00 pm.
