Elnora Douglas

It was the order by God on August 25, 2020, that our beloved Elnora Douglas entered eternal peace at White Oak Manor in Newberry, SC.

Elnora began her earthly journey on October 24th, 1922 to the late William Douglas Sr. and the late Lizzie Brooks Douglas in Newberry County.  She was educated in the Newberry County Public School System and was employed as a Housekeeper and Cook for many years.  She joined the church at an early age.  Until her health declined , she was a faithful and devoted member of St. John Baptist Church in Newberry, SC.  There she diligently served as a member of the choir, Missionary, Woman's Home Aid Society Lodge #97, Usher Board, and she organized the Pastor's Aid in 1973, in which she was President for 24 years.

In addition to her parents, Ms. Douglas was preceded in death by her brothers, Robert Brooks, Rev. Israel Brooks, Ernest Brooks, Henry Brooks, William Douglas Jr. and sisters, Isabel Brooks and Catherine Watson.

Surviving are a host of doting nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.  Also her longtime friend Anita Grein and Family as well as longtime caregiver, Mary Suber.

There will be visitation at Wilson Funeral Home Friday August 28, 2020 from 1:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.

A graveside service will be held 12:00 noon Saturday August 29, 2020 at Werts Cemetery.  Due to current health concerns, the family ask that everyone wear a mask and observe appropriate social distancing.
