Harry Pitts

Harry Pitts, 68, of 2009 South 18th Street Tacoma, Washington entered into eternal rest on May 30, 2025, at St. Joseph's Medical Center.

Born in Newberry County, the son of the late Mary Lee Pitts and the late Willie Speaks of South Carolina. He attended Newberry Schools and later enlisted in the United States Army, where he served 12 years. He had several distinguished medals while serving his country.

He was preceded in death by his oldest niece, Tonya A. Smith, of Newberry, South Carolina.

He is survived by his daughter, Cindy Pitts, his loving sisters Martha Ann Rainer of Newberry, SC and Mary Smith (Larry) of Ooltewah, TN. He is also survived by his 5 grandchildren, Malik Jones, Lauren Taylor, Ricky Taylor, Noah Taylor and Isabella Pitts. His nieces and nephews; Lewis Rainer, Jr., Kenneth (Queisha) Rainer, Lakecia Rainer, Bernetta Smith, Tywanda (Travis) Atkinson, and Willie James (Laura) Smith, Jr. and a host of great nieces and nephews. He also leaves devoted friends, Gisela Jackson and Tatum Miller to cherish his life and memories.

Memorial Service will be held 2pm Sunday July 13, 2025, St. Matthews Baptist Church Newberry, SC.

Burial will be conducted 1pm Monday July 14, 2025, Fort Jackson National Cemetery Columbia, SC.
