Hubert Wicker Jr

Mr. Hubert Wiker, Jr., son of the late Mr. Hubert Wicker and Mrs. Annette Boozer Wicker, was born in Newberry, S.C., on December 16, 1953. He entered eternal rest at Lexington Medical Center on December 26, 2024.

Hubert graduated from Newberry High School in 1972. He served 23+ years in the U.S. Army and was employed by the Newberry School District as a custodian at Mid-Carolina High School.

Hubert was preceded in death by his niece, Shirrenia Wicker.

 Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Deborah Hair Wicker, and one son, Quentell Wicker (Queen) of Simpsonville S.C.; sister, Connie Wicker Young of Newberry, SC; brother, Gallman Wicker (Hazel) of Sumter, SC; five Grandchildren, London, Cassie, Nolan, Hubert Wicker, and Zy’Mya Portee, three aunts; Clara W. King of Orlando, FL, Azalee W. Glenn of Miami, FL and Benzena Wicker of Newberry, SC; six nieces, Katrena Basnight, Monica Glenn, Kim Young, Keisha Young, Trinity Maybin and Shameka Hair, Three nephews. Terrell Young, Tavin Wicker, and Gallman Wicker. A Special friend, Pam Henderson, and many other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held 4:30-6pm Sunday December 29, 2024, Wilson Funeral Home Newberry, SC

Funeral Service will be held 2pm Monday December 30, 2024, St. Matthew Baptist Church Newberry, SC

Intermet and Full Military Honors will be held 10am Tuesday December 31, 2024, Fort Jackson National Cemetery Columbia, SC
