Imogene Bowers Mayers

Imogene Bowers Mayers was born February 27, 1938 in Little Mountain, SC to the late Willie E. Bowers and the late Ruby Mayers Bowers.  She gained her wings Monday August 23, 2021.

She was preceded in death by her husband; Claude Mayers, her siblings; Mattie Ruth Williams, Cleveland Bowers and James Willie Bowers.  Her children Gloria Bowers and Jeffery Mayers.

She leaves behind four daughters; Claudia Mayers, Angela Mayers, Patricia Mayers and Jennifer Mayers all of Little Mountain, SC, one son; Calvin O. Mayers (Ida) of Newberry, SC, one sister; Loretta Moon of Little Mountain, SC, five brothers; Sylvester Bowers (Nancy), Ollie Bowers (Sandra), Eli Bowers of Little Mountain, SC and Timothy Bowers (Melinda) of Decatur, Alabama, Robert Hipp Jr. of Columbia, SC, ten grandchildren,  seven of which she raised as her own; Sonya, Lottee, Precious, DeMichael, Marion, Brandy and Detarous, eleven great grandchildren, one great great grandchild,a daughter-in-law; Mary Mayers, four sisters-in-law, two brothers-in-law and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Viewing will be held Saturday, August 28, 2021 from 1-7pm at Wilson Funeral Home 64 Boundary St, Newberry, SC 29108.

Graveside Services will be held Sunday, August 29, 2021 at 1:00 pm at Providence A.M.E. Church, 701 Meadowlark Rd, Little Mountain, SC 29075.
