Mr. James L Bookman age 65 passed away on Wednesday, April 1,2026, at Newberry County Memorial Hospital born in Prospenty, South Carolina he was the son of the Late Butler Cromer Sr and the late Willie Mae Cromer. Mr Bookman was a long time employee of Kis wire in Newberry.
Mr. Bookman was predeceased by his parents Butler Cromer, Sr. and Willie Mae Cromer, Sister Julia Mae Harris, brother Willie James Bookman. Cherishing his memory are his Wife Yuette Bookman of Lauren, two sons Kenneth Hendersan & Newberry and Benjamin Henders of Piedmont Four daughters, Temeaka L. Brakeman of Spartanburg Tiffany S Bookman of Greenville, Tonya S Bookman of Woodruff and Jamesetta N Bookman of Laurons. Two brothers Freddie lee Bookman (Virginia) of Newberry and Butter E Cromer (Arleen) of Prosperity three sisters Linda Cottman (Thomas) New Jersey Sara Wright and Mary A Cromer of Newberry one brother in law Edward Saddler Jr (Vega) of Columbia 18 grandchildren and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and other relatives that will miss him. Devoted friend Tonya Mozee.
Visitation will be 1-5pm Tuesday April 7, 2026, Wilson Funeral Home Newberry, SC.
Funeral services will be held 2pm Wednesday April 8, 2026, St. Matthew Baptist Church Newberry, SC.
The family will receive friends at the home, 13 Bub Ave, Laurens, SC 29360.
