James Corley
Obituary
Mr. James Corley, beloved son of the late Mr. Burnice Corley and Mrs. Bernice Nellums Corley was born April 27, 1927 in Newberry County. He departed this earthly life and entered the arms of Jesus on Sunday, August 28, 2022 at his home.
Mr. Corley was a member of Providence A. M. E. Church in Little Mountain, South Carolina and was employed with Caldwell Construction and Farming where he retired from with over 75 years of service.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Kathleen Corley and sisters, Thelma O. Smith and Rubie Gleaton.
Celebrating his life and loving memories include two sons, James Lee Corley and Kennedy Corley; stepson, Thomas E. Dorley; two daughters, Earline Corley and Malissa Corley; two grandchildren, one great grandchild; sisters in law, Lillie Ruff, Loretta Moon, Mattie Dorley and Rosa Tobe; a devoted nephew, Evans Toland; devoted friends, Pat Smith and Billie (Kittie) Caldwell and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 31, 2022 from 1 to 6 pm at Wilson Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, September 1, 2022 at 1:00 pm in the sanctuary of Providence A. M. E. Church, 701 Meadowlark Rd, Little Mountain, SC.
Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
