Mr. James Sims (Plyboy) 73, 809 Floyd Street, Newberry, SC entered into eternal rest on Friday July 25, 2025, at Agape House Lexington, SC. James was born on April 19, 1952, to the late Mr. James Wheeler Jr. and the late Mrs. Dorothy Mae Wheeler. He retired from Georgia Pacific after 43 years. He loved fishing, working on his car and spending time with his family.
Mr. Sims was preceded in death by his wife Mrs. Jessie Mae Sims, parents Mr. James Wheeler Jr. and Mrs. Dorothy Mae Wheeler, 1 brother Joseph Sims and 1 nephew DeSantel Wheeler.
Those who celebrate his life and cherish precious memories are 2 sons James Earl Sims of Spartanburg, SC; Travis Sims of Augusta, GA; 6 sisters Janie Mae Sims of Prosperity, SC; Peggy Spearman of Lexington, SC; Josephine Wheeler and Jessie Mae Sims of Newberry, SC; Jannette Wheeler-Simmons (Terrance) of Chapin, SC; Dottie Gray (Bennie) of Newberry, SC; 3 brothers Randy Wheeler of Newberry, SC; Terry Wheeler and Walter Wheeler of Prosperity, SC; 2 grandchildren, 3 aunts Annette Abney and Betty Jo Wilson of Prosperity, SC; Reverend Tina Bookman of Newberry, SC; 1 uncle James Bookman (Ada) of Newberry, SC; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be held 1-5pm Saturday August 2, 2025, Wilson Funeral Home Newberry, SC.
Funeral Service will be held 1pm Sunday August 3, 2025, Mt. Moriah AME Church Prosperity, SC.
Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery.
Family will receive friends at the home of his sister Mrs. Dottie Gray 1025 Cockrell Dr, Newberry, SC 29108
