Ms. Jessie Mae Sims, 77, of 3590 Grant Ave, Newberry, SC, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, December 7, 2025, at her home. Ms. Sims was born on April 14, 1948, to the late James Wheeler Jr. and the late Dorothy Mae Bookman Wheeler.
Ms. Sims was a member of Mt. Moriah A.M.E. Church in Prosperity, SC. She loved to cook and loved talking about the Lord.
Ms. Sims was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. James Wheeler Jr. and Mrs. Dorothy Mae Bookman Wheeler; two brothers, Joseph Sims and James Sims; and one nephew, DeSantel Wheeler.
Those who celebrate her life and cherish precious memories are one son, Randy Wheeler of Newberry, SC; two daughters, Barbara Landy (Keith) of Aiken County and Tammy Seck of Greer, SC; grandchildren Chantee Gorie (Monique Pressley), Bryan Kintrell Landy (Candace), and Mohamed Seck, all of Charlotte, NC; three great-grandchildren, Layla Boyd, Bella, and Ava Landy of Charlotte, NC; five sisters, Janie Mae Sims of Prosperity, SC, Peggy Spearman of Lexington, SC, Josephine Wheeler of Newberry, SC, Jannette Wheeler-Simmons (Terrance) of Chapin, SC, and Dottie Gray (Bennie) of Newberry, SC; two brothers, Terry Wheeler and Walter Wheeler of Prosperity, SC; three aunts, Annette Abney and Betty Jo Wilson of Prosperity, SC, and Reverend Tina Bookman of Newberry, SC; one uncle, James Bookman (Ada) of Newberry, SC; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Visitation will be held 1-5pm Saturday December 13, 2025, Wilson Funeral Home Newberry, SC.
Funeral Services will be conducted 1:30pm Sunday December 14, 2025, Mt. Moriah AME Church Prosperity, SC.
Interment will follow in the church yard cemetery.
The Family will receive friends at the home of her sister Mrs. Dottie Gray (Bennie), 1025 Cockrell Dr, Newberry, SC 29108.
