Mrs. Jaunita G. Nance was born on March 20, 1943 in Newberry, South Carolina. She was the youngest of eight children to the late Hayward and Narvis Gray.
She attended the public schools of Newberry County, South Carolina where she was a graduate of Gallman High School Class of 1962. Mrs. Juanita Nance was a retired seamstress from Damon International. Her marvelous works includes Women’s Aid Society, Usher Board Member, Choir Member, and Kitchen Committee. In her spare time, she enjoyed spoiling her grandchildren, spending time with family and friends, working puzzles, and watching The Young and The Restless.
Mrs. Nance was a dedicated and devoted member of James Hopewell Baptist Church.
On Friday, May 17, 2024, Mrs. Juanita G. Nance entered eternal rest at the beautiful age of eighty-one. In addition to her parents, she was preceded to heaven by her husband, Harold E. Nance; son, Stanley B. Nance and step-son, Harold E. Abnathey.
Those who celebrate her life and cherish loving and precious memories are her daughters, Sharon Flemon (Joe) and Doris Wicker (Terry); older sister, Polly Gray; twelve grandchildren, Tangnakika Cook-Bennett (Kison), Amye Cook, Markela Cook, Latasha Cook, Harold E. Abnathey Jr.(Kayla), Stanton Wicker, Candida Gladney, Li’Tronda Flemon, Valencia Wicker, Terrilyn Wicker, Ja’Bazz Flemon, and Diquon Nance (reared in home); 11 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
At the request of the family there will be no public visitation for Mrs. Nance.
Funeral Service 1:00 pm Friday May 24, 2024 at James Hopewell Baptist Church, 275 Hopewell Church Rd. Newberry, SC.
