Kavian “Terry” Altereke Sanders

Mr. Kavian Altereke “Terry” Sanders, age 40, entered into eternal rest on Monday, May 4, 2026, at Lexington Medical Center. He was born on November 20, 1985, in Newberry, South Carolina, to the late Tony Sanders and Pamela Gray.

Terry was educated in the Newberry County School District and graduated from Newberry High School in 2004. He later attended Benedict College. He was employed with Samsung until his health declined.

Terry was a proud supporter of the Raiders football team and enjoyed spending time with his friends. His warm spirit, sense of humor, and loyalty made him unforgettable to all who knew him.

He leaves to cherish his precious memory his loving mother, Pamela Gray; two brothers, Kiotti Gray (Desiree) and Taurean Robinson; two sisters, Kanequia Gray and Shawndrea Caldwell; aunts: Jannell Sims (Daniel), Anita Faye Nance, Phyllis Annette Nance, and Tracey Nance; uncles: Barnett Singleton, Jr. (Debbie), Joseph Singleton, Sr. (Julia), and Willie Nance, Jr.; great-aunt Annie “Delores” Nance; great-uncle Rev. James Caldwell, Jr.; nephews: Kingston Gray, Eli Schumpert, Hunter Avery, and Cole Avery; Godmother, Mrs. Dorothy Sanders; Goddaughter, Peyton E. Brown; and a devoted circle of friends: Brian Austin, Bradford Brown, James “Darrell” Brown, James & Kimlyn Brown, Korenzo Nance-Bates, Reggie Scurry, Charletha Sims, Randy Stoudemire, Jr., and Jamall Kinard.

Terry leaves behind a host of other relatives and friends who will deeply miss his presence, his laughter, and his love.

Visitation will be held 12-5pm Friday May 8, 2026, Wilson Funeral Home Newberry, SC.

Funeral services will be conducted 1pm Saturday, May 9, 2026, at Bethlehem Baptist Church Newberry, SC. 

Interment will follow at Werts Cemetery.
