Lance Allen McCants

Lance Allen McCants, 63, of Newberry, South Carolina, passed away on Thursday, August 28, 2025, at Lexington Medical Center in Lexington, South Carolina. Born on September 9, 1961, in Brooklyn, New York, he was the beloved son of Lucille P. Coleman and the late James A. McCants, Sr.

Lance is deeply mourned by his devoted mother, Lucille P. Coleman, his daughters Crystal L. McCants and April M. McCants, his sons Allen R. McCants and Timothy J. McCants, son-in-law Darrell Williams, and his six cherished grandchildren. He is also survived by twelve cousins and a host of relatives and friends who will remember him with love.

Lance began his career working on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange. His passion for music led him to become a DJ, where he shared joy through the art of sound. After moving to South Carolina, he continued his career with Samsung while building a life rooted in community and family.

Known for his humor and warm spirit, Lance was a natural prankster and jokester. He had a gift for bringing light into every room he entered, always ready with a smile or a laugh to lift the spirits of those around him. His presence will be deeply missed and forever cherished.

Visitation will be held 4-6 pm Friday, September 5, 2025, Wilson Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be held 2 pm Saturday, September 6, 2025, Wilson Funeral Home, 64 Boundary St, Newberry, SC 29108.

Interment will follow at Hannah AME Church Cemetery Newberry, SC.

The family will receive friends and family at 104 James Long Ln, Newberry, SC.
