Mabel L. Davidson

Ms. Mabel Davidson, affectionately known as "Mamah" was born on July 29, 1933 in Newberry, SC to the late Mary Frances and Willie Lyles.  She answered God's call on Saturday September 4, 2021 at 9:15 pm and peacefully went with him.

Mabel was educated in the Newberry County Public School system.  She was a graduate of Gallman High School.

Mabel was a Certified Nursing Assistant and she loved helping people.  She worked at Newberry County Memorial Hospital and Jessie Frank Hawkins Nursing Home.

Mabel devoted her life to Christ at an early age and began serving the Lord.  She was a faithful member of St. Matthew Baptist Church where she served for as long as she could on the usher board and choir.

She was preceded in death by her daughters;  Patricia Ann Walker, Shirley Sims Mealing and her sister Bessie Coleman.

She leaves to cherish her loving memories her children; Hassan Sami of Oakland, CA, Val Davidson of Columbia, SC, Mike Davidson (Clevon) and Robert Davidson of Newberry, SC, Ronald Davidson of Oakland, CA, Sandra Glymph (Anthony) of Pomaria, SC. a granddaughter Aquanetta Johnson who was raised in the home,  great grandchildren Otis and Ashely Coleman raised in the home. a grandchild Lorenzo Davidson also raised in the home, 15 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, 6 great great grandchildren, a devoted God daughter Addie Dillard and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.  A special thanks to her care givers April Grey, Anthony Glymph and Jannie Glymph and a devoted daughter-in-law Judy Sami and a devoted friend Willie Gallman.

Viewing will be held Friday, September 10, 2021 from 1-7 pm at Wilson Funeral Home.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, September 11, 2021 at noon on the lawn of Wilson Funeral Home, 64 Boundary St, Newberry, SC 29108.

Interment will follow in Werts cemetery.
