Mrs. Marlene H. Flemon was born November 19, 1937, in Newberry, SC to the late George and Ethel Williams and departed this life on Sunday January 12, 2025.
She attended the public schools of Newberry County and graduated from Gallman High School in Newberry, SC. She was employed with Bill Ebert and Family until she retired.
She was a faithful and dedicated member of St. Mark AME Church of Pomaria, SC, where she was a member of the Missionary Society. She was honored to be the Mother of the Church where she was also a member of the Women’s Home Aid Society #5.
Marlene was preceded in death by her loving husband Joe Louis Flemon, six brothers James Cannon, Johnny Williams, Tommy Roy Williams, George Williams, John Henry Williams, Jeffie Williams, three sisters Lillian Hill, Annie Laura Curry Garmany, Jessie Perez, Two brothers in law Clarence Garmany, and Augustine Perez.
Those left to cherish her precious memories are her stepchildren Carriette (Terry) Bowers, Joe (Sharon) Flemon Jr. all of Newberry, SC. Sheryle Cureton of Ohio. Donell (Rebecca) Hall of Chapin, SC. Four grandchildren raised in the home, Brandon (Latonyia) Flemon of Columbia, SC, Jarvis Markis Flemon and Desmond Flemon of Columbia, SC. Two special nephews, Phillip Curry of Pomaria, SC and Andre (Michelle) Sims of Columbia, SC. Two sisters-in-law, Edna Willams of Newberry, SC and Tenetha Flemon Hall of Columbia, SC. A host of other great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Visitation will be held 1-5 Thursday January 16, 2025, Wilson Funeral Home.
Funeral Services and Burial will be Conducted 2pm Friday January 17, 2025, St. Mark AME Church Pomaria, SC.
Family will receive guests at the home of Mr. Phillip Curry 878 SC Hwy 34 Pomaria, SC 29126.
