Mr. Marvin Farrow Jr son of the late Mr. Marvin Farrow Sr. and late Mrs. Bessie Boston Farrow. He entered the arms of Jesus on September 18, 2024. He was born in Newberry County, SC on October 26, 1943. He leaves behind his loving wife, Dorothy Lee Farrow of 30810 Hwy 34, Chappells,SC. They were united in marriage on December 22 nd , 1967, and have been married for 56 years.
He was raised in Chappells, SC and was known for his selfless spirit, tireless work ethic and extensive love for his family. Marvin was still a highly active family man with his continuously witty remarks until he passed at the age of 80. Marvin was baptized at an early age at Scurry Spring Baptist Church of Chappells, SC, where he Served as Chairman of the Deacon Board. He remained a faithful servant of the Lord, before departing he was reading his Bible and Sunday School Lesson
(Teacher).
He was employed with Komatsu America Corporation as an Allied Security Guard Officer as well as an Assistant at Wilson Funeral Home. Marvin loved helping with the public, family and friends.
Regarding his love for bowling, he served as the Vice President for several years throughout his bowling career at Expo 300 in Greenwood, SC.
There were many athletic activities they enjoyed together but most of all bowling. They bowled on multiple Teams and Bowling Leagues for over 40 years, which was done on a weekly basis. Every year in June, they would vigorously bowl in the National Bowling League. Tournaments were held in Las Vegas and Reno, Nevada; Albuquerque, Mexico; Baton Rouge and New Orleans, Louisiana and Texas for 22 years. During these 22 years while to these different locations, they set a Perfect Attendance record in the National Bowling League Tournament. This record was awarded to them by monetary, medals and other gifts. He was inducted into the Hall of Fame, 2024 at Expo 300 of Greater Greenwood County Bowling Association for his years’ worth of bowling.
We take solace in knowing “that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord”. Mr. Farrow was preceded to Heaven by his beloved parents Mr. Marvin Farrow Sr and Mrs. Bessie Boston Farrow; sister Daisy Mae Byrd; brothers Tommy Gene Farrow and John Henry Farrow; and his granddaughter Starkezian Shyterian (Keke) Farrow.
Those he leaves to cherish are his “Wife”, Dorothy Lee Farrow, “Daughters” Debra Anita Williams (Douglas); Angelia Williams; Chandice Wilson (Kelly); Wanda Young (William); Marie Holmes, “Sons”; Furman Farrow (Angela); Donte Farrow; Keith Byrd (Fontella).

Funeral services will be held 2pm Monday September 23, 2024 St. Vaughnville Baptist Church 2127 Salter Rd, Chappells, SC.
Interment following service will take place at Scurry Springhill Baptist Church Cemetery1237 Scurry Church Rd, Chappells, SC.
