Mrs. Mary Helen Glymph Byrd, was born on July 23, 1939 to the late Adam Glymph, Sr and Sarah Goree Glymph. She peacefully transitioned from earth to glory in the early morning hours on Tuesday, August 17, 2021. She was married to the late Yancy “YJ” Byrd.
Mrs. Byrd was educated in Newberry County. She was a lifelong member of Fairview Baptist Church. She was a member of the Senior Choir. She recently retired from Kraft Heinz after 52 years of dedicated service.
Those who celebrate her life and cherish loving and precious memories include two doting daughters, Phyliss Hair(James) of Little Mountain, and Patricia Gardner(Franklyn) of Irmo; a devoted son Michael Byrd(Andrea) of Newberry; four sisters, Estheree Anderson, Sarah Glasgow(Henry), Evelyn Marshall all of Columbia, Nora Lee Sims of Newberry; a brother, Jerome Glymph(Dorothy) of Newberry, SC; seven beloved grandchildren, Everett Hair, Reginald C. Hair, Esq., Cedrick Hair, Brandon Hair, Corey Byrd, Kala Gardner, and Valencia Hutcherson; 11 great grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends, all of whom grieve her departure, but rejoice that she is now resting with the Lord.
Visitation will be held Saturday, August 21, 2021 from 1-7pm at Wilson Funeral Home.
A graveside funeral service will be conducted 1:00 pm on Sunday, August 22, 2021 at Fairview Baptist Church, 6424 SC -34, Newberry, SC 29108. Rev, Marilyn Boulware, Eulogist.
