Mrs. Annie Mae Ellis, 98, of 26070 Highway 76, Newberry, South Carolina, entered into eternal rest on Friday, March 27, 2026, at Prisma Health Richland Memorial Hospital Columbia, South Carolina.
She was born on May 15, 1927, in Saluda, South Carolina, to the late Andrew Richardson Sr. and Florence Richardson.
Mrs. Ellis was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joe Dennis Ellis Sr.; three sons, Joe Dennis Ellis Jr., Willie James Ellis, and Charles Ellis; and one daughter, Eve Mae Floyd.
She was a faithful and devoted member of Belmont Baptist Church, where she remained until her passing.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories: two sons, Barry Ellis of Newberry, South Carolina, and Eddie (Teresa) Ellis of Clinton, South Carolina; seven daughters, Louise Brown and Cindy Smith of Laurens, South Carolina, Sarah Houston of Clinton, South Carolina, Mary Ellis, Dorothy Johnson, and Susan Davis of Newberry, South Carolina, and Nora Ellis of Aiken, South Carolina; and one sister-in-law, Atheal Richardson of Newberry, South Carolina.
She is also lovingly remembered by a host of nieces, nephews, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and great-great-great-grandchildren.
"Her life was a blessing, her memory a treasure. She is loved beyond words and missed beyond measure."
Visitation will be held Friday 1-5pm April 3, 2026 Wilson Funeral Home Newberry, SC.
Funeral services will be conducted 1pm Saturday, April 4, 2026, at Belmont Baptist Church Silverstreet, SC.
Interment will follow in the Church Yard Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the home, 26070 US-76, Newberry, SC 29108.
