Mr. Charles Clafton Singleton, affectionally known as “Billy” of 4184 Dennis Dairy Road, Newberry, SC entered into Eternal rest on Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at Palmetto Health Richland Hospital in Columbia, SC. He was born on April 12, 1953 in Newberry, SC to the late Francis Eva Singleton Harris and the late Lonnie Bates.
At an early age, he attend Hannah A.M.E Church and accepted Christ.
Mr. Singleton was educated at Gallman School in Newberry, SC. Charles was employed at Champion International, Newberry Trucking, Thomas & Howard and retired from Carolina Concrete after 17 years.
Mr. Singleton was predeceased by a special cousin, Eugene Singleton; stepfather, Lee Andrew Harris.
Charles leaves a legacy of being a loving husband, wonderful father, adoring grandfather and great grandfather, a kind hearted person and a trustworthy friend.
Charles leaves to cherish fond and loving memories, his beloved wife, Larita M. Allen Singleton; one son, Quenton Alexander of Joanna, SC; 3 daughters, Carmelita Singleton of Jenkinsville, SC, Sharla Sims (Charles) of Blythewood, SC and Michelle Sims (Andre) of Columbia, SC; 5 grandchildren; Kenneth Toland, Lamontra Sims, Quenton Bowens, Semaj Counts and Dennis Counts; 2 great grandchildren; Raelynn Toland and Kentrell Toland; mother-in-law, Rita Copeland of Bridgeport, CT; father-in-law, Edward Murphy of Bridgeport, CT; two sisters-in-law, Lamicha Murphy of Bridgeport, CT and Karen Murphy Stephens (Anthony) of Camden, CT; 5 nieces, Michella Murphy, Mauriqua Murphy, Roberta Watson (Timothy), Karen Murphy and DaYana Moore; a nephew, Edward Murphy; two God daughters, Clary Ann Small and Teresa Spearman; Godson, Robbie Spearman and other loving relatives and friends, including a devoted friend, Chuck Creech.
The family will receive friends at the home (4184 Dennis Dairy Road, Newberry).
Graveside service will be held 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 31, 2018 at Newberry Memorial Gardens.
