Mr. Cortevis Lo’Erron Stephens, affectionately known as “Tee” a beloved son of Cora M. Stephens and Michael (Theresa) Cromer was born on March 5, 1996 in Newberry, South Carolina.
He departed this life on Monday, February 7, 2022 at his residence surrounded by his family.
He attended Little Mountain Elementary School and was a graduate of Mid Carolina High School. After high school, he continued his education at Piedmont Technical College in Newberry, SC.
“Tee” was a spirit filled prayer warrior who loved God and loved to pray for everyone. He had a heart of gold. Tee had a passion for fashion, shopping, fishing and attending South Carolina Gamecock Basketball games, with his dear friend Randy Stoudemire. His heart was with the Golden State Warriors Basketball Team.
Cortevis was a dedicated and faithful member of Lower Mt. Olive A.M.E. Church, Prosperity, SC, where he was a member and choir leader of the Singing Angels Choir for 25 years. He loved to lead “He Keeps on Blessing Me”. He was a former member of Lower Mt. Olive Praise Dance Team, Male Choir and a former member of F.O.G. Community Choir in Chapin, SC.
Cortevis served as a Community Youth Minister and Chaplin at CPG Outreach Ministries and Director Assistant of Angels of Youth Praise Dance Team, serving both Newberry and Spartanburg.
Cortevis was employed at Generations of Chapin serving as a CNA and a Customer Relations Manager at Conqueror Fencing and Decks of Spartanburg, SC.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents; Rev. Bennie and Dora M. Brown Stephens, Ezell and Annie Pearl ( Kinard) Cromer; great grandparents, Joe Kinard and Fannie Mae Kinard, Uncles; Elbert Stephens, Olin Stephens, Raphord Pitts and an aunt; Shirley J. Stephens Pitts.
Loving and precious memories will continue through his parents, his loving mother Cora M. Stephens and Michael (Theresa) Cromer; two brothers, Marco Cromer and Michael Cromer, Jr. (Nikita) both of Newberry, SC; three sisters, Maresa Green (Tamone) of Waxahachie, Texas, My’Kell Cromer and My ‘Asia Cromer both of Newberry, SC; two God-sisters, Shirdorian (Eric) Stripling of Spartanburg, SC and Janeyetta Gary of Newberry, SC; two God-brothers, Cordera Pitts (Deveney ) and Jonah T. Glenn both of Spartanburg, SC; five aunts two who were devoted, Lorine F. Stephens (Anthony) known as his second mom of Prosperity, SC, Kateera Cromer of Fort Mill, SC known as his God mother, Beataina Geiger (Frank) of Irmo, SC, Rhonda Stephens, Newberry, SC and Mattie Praylow of Whitmire, SC; five uncles four who were devoted, Jerry Stephens (Mary) who was also his pray partner, Henry Stephens, Sr., Ricky Stephens of Prosperity, SC, Mantle Keith Cromer (Janet) of Newberry, SC and Antonio Cromer of Atlanta, GA ; God uncle, Rev. Paul Whitener; God aunt, Willette Bennett of Washington, DC; seven great aunts, three great uncles, seven nieces, five nephews, God parents and third mom, Minister Crystal Pitts Glenn (John); devoted cousins, Imani Stephens, Maia Cromer, Maurice (Brenda) Cannon, Shironda (Michael) Sharpe, Henry Jr. (Darius) Wright, Terrez Sharkee Foggie all of Walterloo, SC, Ella Mae Mitchell, Matilda Lindler, Linda Bates all of Prosperity, SC and Martha Dozier of Batesburg, SC; three devoted friends, Deborah Bates, Lisa Ruff and Retha Hair all of Prosperity, SC and a host of other loving friends who loved him dearly.
Visitation will be held Thursday, February 10, 2022 from 3pm until 7pm at Wilson Funeral Home.
A Graveside Service will be held 11:00 am on Friday, February 11, 2022 at Lower Mt. Olive A. M. E. Church, 2532 Wheeland School Rd, Prosperity, South Carolina 29127.
