Mr. Gregory McKinley Bowers, Sr. of 230 Folk Street in Pomaria, SC passed away on Thursday, April 30, 2020 at his residence. He was born in Newberry, SC on September 9, 1966 to Mrs. Barbara Houseal Williams and the late Mr. Malworth Bowers, Sr.
He attended Saint Paul A.M.E. Church in Pomaria, SC and was a member of the Sons of Aid Society Lodge # 57.
Mr. Bowers was a veteran of the United States Army.
Those who celebrate his life and cherish precious and loving memories include his mother of the home, Mrs. Barbara Houseal Williams; two sons, Gregory McKinley Bowers, Jr. of Newberry, SC and Christopher L. Dandy of Clinton, SC; one daughter, Laneashia Mars of Irmo, SC; four grandchildren, Noah Praylow, Khalil Praylow, Carter Shell and Christann Dandy; three brothers, Malworth Bowers, Jr. of Little Mountain, SC, Stanley A. Bowers of Newberry, SC and Cedric Mayers of Little Mountain, SC; one sister, Krystle L. Thompson of Newberry, SC; a devoted friend, Sherri Davenport of Pomaria, SC; thirteen uncles; seventeen aunts; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A private service will be held 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 5, 2020 at Wilson Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Fort Jackson National Cemetery in Columbia, SC.
