Mr. James Eddie Crooks

Mr. James Eddie Crooks of 1 New Hope St., Greenville, SC, died August 27, 2018, at Greenville Memorial Hospital. He was born in Newberry, SC on September 22, 1929 to the late Mr. Ernest Crooks and the late Mrs. Carrie Estell Sanders Crooks.

He was a member of James Hopewell Baptist Church and a U.S. Army Veteran of twenty-two years.

Mr. Crooks was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Ruby Lee Crooks and daughter, Bettie Bell.

Surviving to cherish precious and loving memories are two sons, Thomas Crooks of Charlotte, NC, and LeRoy Crooks (Debra) of  Corona, CA; four daughters, Mary Boyd of Columbia, SC, Ruby Nell Jones of Charlotte, NC, Peggie Crooks of Goodyear, AZ, and Patricia Hudson of Greenville, SC; sister, Lillian Ruff of Newberry, SC; sixteen grandchildren, including James Louis Crooks (Mae) who was reared in the home; thirty-eight great-grandchildren; and a host of great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

 Funeral service will be held 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, September 8, 2018 at James Hopewell Baptist Church in Newberry, SC. Burial to follow in the church cemetery.
