Mr. James Ward Litkett, 102, of 20 Rosezinnia Dr. Silverstreet, SC entered eternal rest on Saturday, June 12, 2021. Born June 6, 1919 in New York City, he was the son of the late Mr. Joseph Litkett and the late Laura Ward Litkett.
He was a member of the Mother Zion Baptist Church, New York. Mr. Litkett was a member of the 369th Army and was stationed in Hawaii 6 months after the attack on Pearl Harbor. He was a WWII veteran. He retired from the New York Police Department where he was a member of the Guardian Association that represented Black Policemen, He also retired from the United States Postal Service in Newberry, South Carolina.
James is survived by his wife, Lovely (Pat) Litkett, four children; James D. Litkett, Bernard Litkett (Lisa), Lorraine Savage and Keith L. Litkett, four grandchildren; Keith B. Litkett, Thomas Savage Jr., Laura Savage and Brianna Savage.
Visitation Thursday June 17, 2021 from 1:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Wilson Funeral Home.
Funeral Service 11:00 am Friday June 18, 2021 at Wilson Funeral Home.
Internment will follow at Ft. Jackson National Cemetery.
