Mr. Julious “Popcorn” Jenkins, beloved husband of Gwendolyn Evon Jenkins, entered eternal rest Saturday October, 23, 20221 at Prisma Health Richland Hospital. Mr. Jenkins was born August 3, 1946 in Eutawville, SC to the late Lawton Jenkins Sr. and Rosa Lee Jenkins.
Julious attended Orangeburg County Schools and at an early age he moved to Brooklyn, NY for work. While there he met his lovely wife Evon Harrell. After returning from NY, “Popcorn,” as he was affectionately called by his friends, became a plumber by trade and worked for Kraft Foods for many years. After retirement, he became an avid farmer, who loved his family and animals.
He leaves behind to cherish precious and loving memories his wife of 42 years; Gwendolyn Evon Jenkins, a daughter; Shevonna J. Jenkins, a sister; Mary Doctor of Brooklyn, NY, four brothers; Lawton Jenkins Jr. of Columbia, SC, Ernest Jenkins, Robert Jenkins and William Jenkins of Eutawville, SC, five sisters-in-law Jadell Jenkins of Columbia, SC, Thelma Jenkins of Eutawville, SC, Floretta Brockington, Gloria Freeman and Alice Garrison of Windsor, NC, four brothers-in-law Larry Harrell, Charles Harrell, Phillip Harrell and Joseph Harrell of Windsor, NC, a best friend (niece); Octavia Bullock of Greensboro, NC, a God granddaughter; Sha’Rayah Johnson of Newberry, SC, two Godsons; K.T. & K.J. Robinson and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He also leaves behind his furry cannines Cookie and Bronze.
Viewing will be held Friday, October 29, 2021 from 2-7 pm in the parlor of Wilson Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be conducted 12 pm Saturday, October 30, 2021 at Wilson Funeral Home.
Interment will be held noon Saturday, November 6, 2021 in Heydon Hill Cemetery, Eutawville, South Carolina.
